My Generation vs.Your Generation

"My Generation vs. Your Generation" is a new club concept touring Europe in 2010. DJs Justin (Weekender, Innsbruck/London) and Ingo Schwarz (Munich) are on a mission. “The classic sounds of the 60s and early 70s influenced a lot of modern bands” they say. “We’re going to compare, contrast and rock the floor with a combination of old and new. Beatles meets Oasis, Clash meets Hard-Fi, Rolling Stones meets Strokes, Kinks meets Blur.” Britpop, Grunge and Electro sounds of the last 20 years are still heard in every great club around the world as are the classic Beat, Rock, Glam and Punk sounds of the 60’s & 70’s but at last there is a club night that challenges the best of both era’s in a way that guarantees a great night of 100% top tunes battling against each other. Maybe even the occasional 80’s tune will be slipped in (anyone for The Smiths?). Justin Barwick from London started DJing at the height of Punk in the late 70’s and has since gone on to form the brand Weekender with the club in Austria and Record label in the UK and Germany. Ingo Schwarz has been a leading DJ in the Munich scene playing at all the top venues since the early days of Britpop and few people have a better understanding of the Indie in the last 20 years.
