As part of the official Vienna Bloomsday & Mylesday celebrations, the Department of English Studies and the Irish Embassy in Vienna invite you to Charlie P's Irish Pub to a performance of Gerry Smyth and David Llewellyn's "The Brother". This two-man show is adapted from the works of Flann O'Brien, Joyce's literary heir who is celebrating his centenary this year.

The action of the play takes place in a pub in Dublin in 1952, and concerns the developing relationship between three men, one of whom - the eponymous 'brother' - is not about to let the fact that he is absent get in the way of having an opinion on everything from the danger of eggs to the French art tradition.

All are welcome to attend for a celebration of Ireland's greatest literary geniuses and a few "pints of plain"
