" Die verlorene Form " , Ausstellung Eröffnung

Unter dem Titel "Die verlorene Form" zeigt FRIDAY EXIT künstlerische Positionen mit unterschiedlichen Herangehensweisen, deren Konsens es ist die Form als ein immer neu gestaltbares und diskursives Element zu denken. Laut werden dabei Fragen zur Relevanz und dem Potential einer kritischen, künstlerischen Auseinandersetzung mit Gesellschaft und Politik. Wie formt sich bzw. wie wird unsere Gesellschaft geformt? Welche Rolle spielt in diesem Zusammenhang die Kunst als reflexives Medium? Wie konstruiert sich Identität über Medien und was sind die sich daraus ergebenden gesellschaftspolitischen Folgen? Werden die vorgegeben Formen (des Kunstmarkts, der Institutionen und des eigenen Denkens) den diversen künstlerischen Ansätzen von Künstler*innen gerecht? Entsprechen die Traditionen und Konventionen unserer Gesellschaft dem heutigen Leben?Von der verlorenen Form spricht man in der Bildhauerei, wenn die Abformungstechnik den Verlust des Modells sowie der Negativform impliziert. Diese werden während des Prozesses zerstört. Die Technik eignet sich demnach nicht für eine serielle Reproduktion.

Die in der Ausstellung "Die verlorene Form" zusammengeführten Künstler*Innen brechen die Form um einem Umdenken und Neuerungen Raum zu geben.

Under the title of „die verlorene Form“ Friday Exit is presenting various artistic positions with different approaches, whose consent it is to think of form as an ever reconfigurable and discursive element. Questions arise concerning the relevance and potential of a critical artistic approach towards society and politics. How is our society formed? In this context, which part does art play as a reflexive medium? How is identity constructed through the media and what are the resulting sociopolitical consequences? How do the dictated forms (of the art market, the institutions and the proper thinking) measure up to the diverse artistic approaches? Do our traditions still correspond to our society? The “waste mold” is a term used in sculpting, when the technique of casting requires the destruction of the model as well as the negative. The procedure is therefore not suited for serial reproduction.

The artists brought together in the exhibition “die verlorene Form” are thus breaking the mold to give space to a new way of thinking.
